The journey for audiophiles continues—enjoy our new floor-standing speaker, Versura V2, which expands AUER ACOUSTICS’ ever-growing speaker family. The elegant design of the speaker, crafted from tankwood, allows for seamless integration into any setting.

Made of Tankwood, the speakers feature a side mounted 12″ bass driver which create a deep bass foundation and enable surprising dynamic performance.

Tankwood, also commonly known as Panzerholz or “bulletwood,” is a high-tech, resin-infused, densified wood. It is created by bonding thin layers of hardwood veneers (typically beech) with phenolic resin under extreme pressure and heat.

Bulletproof & Dense: It is so dense that it sinks in water, and it actually served as actual military tank armor during World War II.
Exceptional Acoustics: It provides an ideal combination of stiffness and inner damping, which prevents unwanted mechanical resonances.
Strength & Stability: It possesses physical strength comparable to aluminum, but weighs less and won’t warp or expand like traditional timber.

Due to its unique elasto-mechanical properties and extreme durability, tankwood is used across several specialised industries:

High-End Audio: It is a premium material used to build ultra-luxury speaker cabinets (e.g., by brands like Kharma or AUER Acoustics), turntables, and vibration-damping equipment racks
Automotive: Used in Formula 1 racing for superior vibration damping, as well as in the armouring of VIP luxury cars.
Industrial & Military: Still utilised in ballistics, neutron research labs, and applications where a non-metallic, heavy-duty material is required.
